The body is your vehicle that leads you back to yourself.

The body is your vehicle that leads you back to yourself.

Trauma and pain whisper that your body is wrong or bad. Listening to these whispers for weeks or months on end can lead to anxiety and depression, hindering career goals, and isolating yourself from supportive relationships.

Your body isn’t wrong or bad, it’s a matter of finding the right support to heal. Through breath, guided rest, subtle movement, and self-care writing, you will learn to feel empowered, creative, clear, and safe.

Together we will foster C.H.O.I.C.E.S.-Control, Honest movement, Opportunities, Internal sensations, Creativity, External Sensations, and Self Compassion.

You deserve to express who you are without trauma and pain leading your life.

My support extends to people who are:

  • dealing with PTSD

  • Recovering from surgery

  • Moving through grief

I have taught Trauma-Informed Yoga for these Organizations:

  • SAFE Coalition, Franklin MA

  • Warrior Within Yoga Project, Various locations

  • Wayside Trauma Intervention Services, Milford MA

I also lead Trust Fall Writing groups and individual TFW sessions.

This is a therapeutic writing practice where we use a writing prompt to let our thoughts “trust fall” onto the page as fast as possible. The fast writing overrides our inner critic. We catch anything and everything: our imperfections, mistakes, unfinished/unsure thoughts, and stuck-ness. After, we meet ourselves where we are on the page by reflecting on specific nonjudgmental questions about our writing voice. This supports our understanding of how we see and treat ourselves.

And yes, sometimes TFW is in a yoga therapy session! It depends on the context and individual.

FAQs

  • In yoga therapy, the focus is tailored to your situation, needs, and goal(s) through the tools of breath, movement, and stillness whereas a class – whether private or group – is not tailored to the multiple layers of your well-being.

Yoga Therapy offers space for you to explore more about yourself. We cultivate curiosity and connections between the way we are experiencing a felt-sense of something and perceiving a pattern.

  • I meet you where you are and, keeping your goal(s) in mind, I see what tools - movement, stillness, breath, or writing - could be most beneficial towards healing as we move from week to week. For example, for a few weeks, there may be more focus on movement, then for another few weeks there could be a focus on rest. It depends on where you are on the journey. We’re in it together!

  • Our first step is to schedule a complimentary consultation where I will listen and learn how I can support you in your healing journey. I will take note of your challenges, goal(s), and current well-being. And if we think it makes sense to move forward together, then into the understory of exploration and healing we go!
